About

I'm a multi-disciplinary product designer from Eastbourne, UK, with a love for all things design.

Day One at Automattic Eastbourne, UK

I design Day One, Automattic's journaling app. I've been with it since the acquisition, and my work spans the whole product, from the core journaling experience to the recent AI features opening up new ways to journal.

My spare time goes on building developer tools, and the ones I care about most are the ones that make people pause and ask how it's done. iOS 7 did that to me. So did my first time in VR. Chasing that reaction, and handing it to someone else, is half the reason I build anything.

I freelanced first, spent a few years at Busuu in London designing language learning, and I've been at Automattic for the better part of a decade since.

Thinking in systems, for me, means designing things that hold up. They're built with a clear picture of how they'll be implemented, easy to update, easy to maintain, easy to reshape into new styles, and beautiful at the end of it. None of that competes with designing for humans. It's what keeps a product good long after version one ships.
